PLANNING AMID ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />-• CITY OF RAMShT <br />ANLEA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, March 1, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. David Schulte's request for <br />preliminary plat approval of Oakwood Hilis. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />Members Absent: <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman <br />Mr. Roy Shimrway <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br />Mr. Jim Holm <br />Mr. Michael Terry <br />Chairman Zimmerman calied the public hearing to order at 8:16 p.m. <br />Michael rIinkler - 16000 Radium - Inquired if he has the right to comment it <br />he doesn't live within 350 feet of the proposed plat and did not receive a <br />hearing notice. <br />Chairman Zimmerman replied that Mir. Minkler has the right to comment. <br />Ms. Norris <br />explained that <br />the original <br />hearing notices <br />were sent to <br />everyone within a generous <br />150 feet of the <br />proposed plat. <br />After Council <br />revised the <br />street layouts, <br />everyone along <br />160th received a <br />hearing notice. <br />Michael Minkler - Stated that it'is a shane that the City's plan to <br />eliminate cul-de -sacs comes after- the -fact because people moved into these <br />neighborhoods because they liked the way tney were designed. Adaitional <br />accesses into neighborhoods will increase crime rates and the occurrence of <br />speeders. When streets are changed and connected, everyone in the adjacent <br />plat should be notified of the proposal. <br />Chaim an Zimmerman stated that hearing notices are sent in accordance with <br />State law; the city is not trying to exclude anyone fran commenting. <br />Bruce Hoeke - 15901 Sodium Street YK - Stated that he is concerned with <br />developing areas that happen to be dry now but were under water 6 -7 years <br />ago. <br />Planning and Zoning Public Hearing /March 1, 1988 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />D <br />
