<br />CASE *3: <br /> <br />REQUFSl' FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO HCLD AN OOTOOOR WRFSI'Lm:i MATCH; <br />CASE OF NORD MaroRS <br />By: Community Developnent Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Nord Motors is requesting a conditional use permit to hold an outd~or <br />wrestling match in the parking lot at 6140 Hwy. #10 N.W. Nord would l~ke <br />to hold the proposed wrestling match on June 18, 1988. Nord Motors is <br />anticipating that approximately 1,000 people will be attending the match. <br /> <br />For your information, the following items are enclosed: <br /> <br />a} Appl ication <br />b} Site location map <br />c) Letter from Priscilla O'Rourke dated May 11, 1988 <br />d} Proposed findings of fact <br />e} Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br />Cbservations: <br /> <br />The Corranission conducted a public hearing on this request on May 3, 1988. <br />At that time, the Commission tabled action on the request and requested <br />Nord Motors to provide a site plan showing the following: <br /> <br />I} Designated parking areas; <br />2} Location of buildings and gas pumps; <br />3} Location of the wrestling; <br />4} Location of the audience; <br />5} Location and number of restroom facilities; <br />6) Location of concession areas; and <br />7} Location and direction of audio system. <br /> <br />In addition, the Commission asked for a written plan detailing the security <br />and traffic control for the match. The Commission also requested that this <br />plan address clean-up of the site and adjacent properties after the match. <br /> <br />Evan Green, District Engineer for the Department of Transportation, had the <br />fOllCMing conunents: <br /> <br />l} N:> parking be allowed on Highway 10; <br />2}Any signing for the wrestling match will require MnDOT's approval; <br />and <br />3} The wrestling match cannot interrupt the traffic flow on Highway <br />10. <br /> <br />MN/DOT would like to review and approve Nord's proposed traffic management <br />plan to ensure that the event will not disrupt the flow of traffic on Hwy. <br />#10. <br /> <br />In addition, Police Chief Asupos commented that Nord Motors is not <br />}?ermitted to apply for a temporary non-intoxicating liquor license and the <br />audience will not be permitted to drink alcoholic beverages on the site. <br />Private security would be required to be provided by Nord Motors. <br /> <br />~\ <br />
