RELATED TO <br />PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO OOMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />By: Community Developnent Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As you know, the City is proposing an amendment to its Comprehensive Plan <br />to expand the boundaries of the City's 1990 Urban Service Area. The <br />proposed amendment is in res};X)nse to several develorers' request to extend <br />utilities to certain proposed residential developments. <br /> <br />For your information, the following items are enclosed: <br /> <br />a} Existing 1990 Urban Service Area boundaries <br />b) ProI;X>sed 1990 Urban Service Area boundaries <br />c) Letter fran City Engineer dated May 3, 1988 <br />d) Letter from Jack Miller dated May 20, 1988 <br /> <br />Cbservations: <br /> <br />At its meeting on May 17, 1988, the Planning Commission recommended that <br />only that area west of Ramsey Terrace be included in the proposed <br />amendment. <br /> <br />At its meeting on May 24, the City Council requested that the Planning <br />Commission adopt findings of fact relating to their action on the proposed <br />amendment. <br /> <br />The pro};X)sed amendments are in response to several developers who have <br />requested the extension of the utilities for future urban residential <br />. subdivisions. The City Council is interested in maintaining an adequate <br />supply of urban residential lots. By the end of 1988, most of the vacant <br />lots in River's Bend and Flintwood Hills P.U.D. will have been absorbed and <br />the City will not have an adequate supply of urban residential lots to <br />serve the demand for such lots. <br /> <br />Recanmendation: <br /> <br />COnunission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Adopt findings of fact relating to the proposed Comprehensive Plan <br />amendment. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recorranend approval/denial of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator ~ <br />Attorney -X- <br />Engineer -X- <br />Community Development Director -X- <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Other <br /> <br />3).. <br />
