<br />CASE 17: <br /> <br />RmtJESr FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO CONSl'RUCl' AND OPERATE <br />CONrRACl' INCINERATORS IN '!BE RESEAROl fORTION OF THEIR OPERATIONS; <br />CASE OF ATLAS INCINCERATORS, INC. <br />By: Community Developnent Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Atlas Incinerators, Inc. is proposing to locate their corporate <br />headquarters, manufacturing operations and research facility on 16 acres <br />located northwest of the intersection of Cty. Rd. #116 and Sunfish Lake <br />Blvd. N.W. '!he facility will include 9,600 square feet of two-story office <br />space; 28,000 square feet of manufacturing area; and 28,000 square feet for <br />a research and service facility. The buildings are proposed to be <br />constructed of precast concrete. <br /> <br />Atlas Incinerators, Inc. is also proposing to include incinerators for <br />contract burning in their research facility. <br /> <br />'!he site is located in the I-I Industrial District. <br />and research facilities are permitted uses in this <br />contract burning facility is not a permitted use <br />District. <br /> <br />Offices, manufacturing <br />District. '!he contract burn facility is propsoed to occupy approximately <br />7% of the facility. Atlas is requesting a permit from the Minnesota <br />Pollution Control Agency to burn a maximum of 38 tons per day in this <br />facility. No hazardous wastes will be permitted to be burned in this <br />facility. No loose refuse will be accepted at the facility; all waste will <br />be prepackaged for disposal. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend adoption of findings of fact related to Atlas Incinerators r , <br />Inc.'s request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />(,1 <br />
