That same act set up a specific procedure to <br />___ Jdo the act;ual sit;ing of t;hese facilities and provided voting <br />membership on t;he county site selection authority for each city <br />w.ith a sit;e on the Metropolit;an Councils disposal sit;e inven-torY.-e <br />That; provision which provided for direct; city represent;ation on <br />the county sit;ing aut;hority was strongly ,supported by the AMM <br />and LMC. <br /> <br />Current; Sit;uation: A bill was just; int;roduced int;he <br />Legislature (HF 883) which would change t;he county site select;ion <br />aut;hority t;o basically an advisorycommit;t;ee'and give t;he County <br />Boards t;he final aut;horit;y to make the act;ual selections. It; is <br />my understanding t;hat;this bill is sponsored by Carver Count;y and <br />a copy is enclosed.
