McGinley, Vice President, Dougherty, Dawkins, Strand and Yost - <br />Stated that he represents Prestress Concrete and introduced the President and <br />Vice-President of Prestress. He stated that Prestress corporate plans call <br />for:$980,000 expansion of the plant which will involve'creating some 10 <br />new jobs over the next year. He further stated that the issue would be that <br />of special obligation and in no way affects Ramsey's borrowing power. The <br />loan can only be repaid by the corporation that is borrowing it. Ramsey <br />would be complying with Fed~ral law by including it's name on the bonds. <br />Industrial revenue bonds to stimulate the economy and create jobs within the <br />city in which they are used. This process al~ows the city to pick and choose <br />corporations they would like to see utilize these tax exempt funds. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that there have been some inquiries as to what Prestress <br />is doing with the waste cement and requested that Prestress have an explanation <br />ready at the next regular Council meeting scheduled for April 26, 1983. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />adopt Resolution #83-44 gra~ting preliminary approval and setting public <br />hearing date on the issuance of an industrial revenue bond for Prestress <br />Concrete, Inc.
