<br />. . <br /> <br />City of Anoka <br /> <br />$~c t ion' )6-89 <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Sec. 3 () - R !) . 1\ I - 2 I n d tl S t ria I D i s t r i ct. <br /> <br />(a) Within :\1-2 Ind1lstrlal Dist.ricts~ business signs, nameplate signs and adver- <br />tising signs arc permitted, subjed. to the following regulations: <br /> <br />(1) The total surface area of all business signs on a lot shall not exceed three <br />square fect for each lineal foot of lot frontage. No single business sign surface area <br />shall excecd three hundred square feet in area, nor shall two or more smaller signs <br />be so arranged and integrated as to create a surface area in excess of three hundred <br />square feet. In the case of corner lots, the least width of such a corner lot shall be <br />the front, for purposes of lhis chapter. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />(2) Advertismg signs shall be permitted, as regulated in the 0-3 General <br />Business District. <br /> <br />(b) The height and illumination sign provisions of the 1\1-1 Light Industrial Dis- <br />trict shall apply in the M-2 General Industrial Districts. <br /> <br />Article XVI. Nonconforminlr Uses. <br /> <br />Sec. 3()-90. Continuation. <br /> <br />{ <br /> <br />The lawful use of buildings or land existing at the effective date of this chapterS <br />which does not conform to the provisions of this chapter shall be discontinued within <br />a reasonable period of amortization of the building. Uses of land which become non- <br />conforming by reason of a subsequent change in this chapter shall also be discontinued <br />within a reasonable fJeriod of amortization of t.he building. In no event shall the amor- <br />tization period be more than: <br />. . <br /> <br />(a) Three years for outdoor advertising structures (signs and billboards). <br /> <br />(b) Thirty years for buildings of ordinary wood frame construction. <br /> <br />(c) Forty years for buildings of wood and masonry construction. <br /> <br />(d) Fifty years for buildings of firepruof construction. <br /> <br />Sec. 36-91. Alterations. <br /> <br />The lawful use of a building existing at the time of the adoption of th~s chapterG <br />may be continued, although such U::ie does not conform with the provisions hereof. If <br />no structural alterations are made, a nonconforming use of a buihlin~ may be changed <br />to another nonconforming use of the same or more restricted classification.
