Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #06-03-097 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PARK SHELTER AT CENTRAL PARK WHEREAS, the Ramsey Lions Club has been working with the City regarding the replacement of the Park Shelter at Central Park and has donated $185,000.00 towards the cost of the project; and WHEREAS, Hakanson Anderson & Associates donated the civil engineering work required for the project and Ramsey Lions member Al Hurner and Adkins Association Inc. architects donated the schematic design work for the project; and WHEREAS, Council authorized re-bidding for the project at their regular meeting of February 28th and the use of Charitable Gambling Funds to fund the additional costs associated with the project above the $185,000.00 donation by the Ramsey Lions; and WHEREAS, three sealed bids were received and opened at City Hall on Friday, March 24th, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes a contract for construction of the new Park Shelter at Central Park with DNR Construction Services in the amount of $311,500.00 with Add. No. 1 included in the amount of $57,800.00 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Cook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Jeffrey Councilmember Cook Councilmember Olson Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Strommen And the following voted against the same: None And the following abstained: Councilmember Elvig
