<br />Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-04-122 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A PARKS MAINTENANCE <br />WORKER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of the 2006 budget, the City Council authorized the creation of a <br />new Streets Maintenance Worker position which was filled internally by a Parks Maintenance <br />Worker; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a recruitment process was conducted to fill the Parks Maintenance Worker <br />position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has requested authorization to hire a Parks Maintenance Worker at an <br />hourly rate of $17.01 and a recruitment process was conducted to fill the Parks Maintenance <br />Worker position. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee <br />to do the following: <br /> <br />a. Grant staff authorization to hire a Parks Maintenance worker at $17.01 per hour <br />with a start date of April 24, 2006. <br /> <br />b. Grant staff authorization to bring forward the name of the selected Parks <br />Maintenance Worker candidate to a future City Council meeting for ratification <br />pending receipt of satisfactory pre-employment physical and drug test results. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br />
