<br />Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-06~182 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONSIDERING AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A COMMUNITY <br />SERVICE OFFICER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 23, 2006 the City Council authorized a recruitment process for a <br />Community Service Officer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an internal recruitment process was conducted to fill the Community <br />Service officer position; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has requested authorization to hire a Community Service Officer at an <br />hourly rate of$15.30. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA; <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />a. Grant authorization to staff to hire a Community Service Officer at $15.30 per <br />hour with a start date of June 21, 2006 with the understanding that the selected <br />candidate may be asked to assist with community activities prior to the official <br />start date. <br /> <br />b. Grant staff authorization to bring forward the name of the selected candidate to a <br />future City Council meeting for ratification pending receipt of satisfactory pre- <br />employment physical and drug test results. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmemher Jeffrey <br />Councilmemher Pearson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br />
