<br />v <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-06-194 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM LOW DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL TO PLACES TO WORK AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO <br />SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN <br />AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 4, 2006, the City of Ramsey received an application from Thomas <br />Peterson (the "Applicant") requesting an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to change the <br />future land use designation from Low Density Residential to Places to Work, for the following <br />legally described property: <br /> <br />That part of the south 1155 feet of the west 297 feet of the Southwest Quarter of <br />Section 18, township 32, Range 25, lying north of the Railroad Right-of-way, except <br />road subject to easement of record, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br /> <br />(The Subject Property) <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved In 2001 shows the Subject <br />Property designated land use as Low Density Residential; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property owners are requesting that the Subject Property's designated <br />land use of Low Density Residential be changed to Places to Work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Subject Property is bordered on the south and west by industrial uses, <br />on the north by a rural residential use, and on the east by a golf course; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed land use will complement existing land uses in the area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on June 1, 2006, conducted a public <br />hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council deny the Applicant's request for an <br />amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the request for a land use designation change <br />ofthe Subject Property from Low Density Residential to Places to Work. <br /> <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary <br />documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan <br />to change the land use designation to Places to Work. <br />
