<br />authorize entering into a joint powers agreement with the participants of <br />CORmA. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: CouncilxrernberDeLuca stated he would be willing to <br />support certain legislation proposed by CORONA but joining that <br />organization now may lead to problems for Ramsey; he is skeptical of an <br />organization that doesn't publish the names of participants when making <br />presentations. Councilmember Cox stated that there will be times when <br />participants disagree on issues and that is the purpose for each <br />particip;mt having a representative on the CORONA Board. Councilmember <br />Cox stated that it will take a joint effort to get Metro Council to take <br />note of concerns. Councilrrember DeLuca expressed opposition to joining <br />OJRCNA until Ramsey's own situation with Metro Council is resolved. Mayor <br />Reimann suggested that CORONA join the Northern Mayors' Association. <br />Councilxrernber Sorteberg stated that joining CORmA now, with the amount of <br />information known about that organization, is premature. <br /> <br />l>k:>tion failed. Voting Yes: Councilrrernbers Cox and Pearson. Voting No: <br />Mayor Reimann, COuncilmernbers Borteberg and DeLuca. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann requested that Councilrrember Pearson attend another meeting <br />of OORCNA to determine who the p;lrticipants are and any of their proposed <br />legislation Ramsey might be interested in supporting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox disagreed with directing Councilmernber Pearson to take <br />the time to attend meetings of an organization the City is not going to <br />support. <br /> <br />Case #7: Re~rt From Road A~d Bridge Committee: <br /> <br />a. Railroad realignment - <br /> <br />, <br />, <br /> <br />Nr. Raatikka stated that the Road and Bridge Committee recommends dropping <br />this project unless outside funding is found. <br /> <br />Councilnernber Cox notec that the project woulc be costly but a tremendous <br />amount of revenue would b~ generated by it's enhancement of commercial <br />developnent along Hwy. #10. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Mayor Reimann directing the <br />Road and Bridge Co~ittee to negotiate with various agencies for future <br />funding for realignment of Burlington Northern railroad tracks and with <br />property owners to determine interest in committing the necessary right-of- <br />waY. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Rei.rnann, Councilmembers Son:eberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />b. Contracting out - <br /> <br />!'.It.
