PROVIDING FOR <br />REGULATION~OF DANGEROUS DOGS, AND THEREBY AMENDING THE CITY <br />CODE. .,r, /' _-;1"';. N <br />~~ 01' Vfr\U <br /> <br />The City of RamseY Ordains: <br />SECTION 1. ~ -J-e0- <br />) / D, D'3 J Definitions: <br /> <br />a. "Dog" .shall mean any male or female of any breed of <br />domesticated dog. <br /> <br />b. "Dangerous Dog" shall mean and include: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Any dog with a known propensity, tendency or <br />disposition to attack unprovoked, to cause <br />injury or to otherwise endanger the safety of <br />human beings or domestic animals; or <br /> <br />~, <br />r 2.~AnY dog which attacks a human being .e-P- <br />:>d ~1fI.H. H . .1 wi thou t provocation; or <br /> <br />e>!!\ <br /> <br />3. Any. dog owned or harbored primarily or in <br />part for the purpose of dog fighting or any <br />dog trained for dog fighting. <br /> <br />c. "Owner" shall mean the license holder or any other <br />person or persons, firm, association, or corporation <br />owning, keeping or harboring a dog. Any person keeping <br />or harboring a dog for five (5) consecutive days shall, <br />for the purposes of this chapter, be deemed an oWner <br />thereof~ <br /> <br />d. "Running at large" shall mean any dog which is not <br />either: '. ~ Vf)/~ ft ~ C. <br /> <br />1. Ef~ectively contained~~~~~a on <br />pr~vate property; or <br /> <br />2. Effectively restrained, by chain or leash, to <br />private property with the consent of the property <br />owner; or . <br /> <br />3. All dogs kept, habored, or maintai:1ed <br />in the City of Ramsey shall be licensed and registered. <br />Applications for licenses shall be made to the City Clerk <br />upon forms provided by the Clerk.
