City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />Background: ' <br /> <br />It was staff s belief that all mechanical equipment would be screened on the roof of the <br />new Municipal Center. As construction progressed and equipment arrived, it became <br />apparent that no screening was provided for the chiller unit located to the south of the <br />mechanical penthouse that houses the rest of the mechanical equipment for the new <br />Municipal Center. Staff requested pricing to provide additional screening for the roof <br />(grey chiller next to existing mechanical penthouse) of the new Municipal Cent~r. The <br />cost to construct the additional screening, which would be constructed of the same <br />materials as the existing mechanical penthouse, is $63,800.46. The chiller unit is located <br />on the east side of the building, south of the existing mechanical penthouse, which is <br />constructed of rheinzinc metal louvers. The Proposal Request and response from the <br />contractors is attached for Council review. <br /> <br />Action Statement: <br /> <br />Based upon discussion, determine if Council wishes to install the additional screening. <br /> <br />CCWS: <br /> <br />08/08/2006 <br />
