for the Planning Commission to decide. Tonight's task is to discuss housing needs and <br />the bungalows do offer something for the empty nesters. However, Ms. Cleveland stated <br />that she will not vote to approve a comprehensive plan amendment. <br />Commissioner. Trites Rolle stated that it is a beautiful plan but she has a great deal of <br />concern with the Alpine access and traffic, which also involves the County. She would <br />be concerned about adding that volume of traffic to the area without other things being <br />place at the same time <br />Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy and seconded by Commissioner Levine to <br />recommend that City Council deny the request for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment for <br />the Skyline Pointe development, based on the following: a) traffic volumes; b) <br />inadequate rationale for additional density in the area <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Commissioners Van Scoy, Levine, Cleveland, Trites Rolle, <br />Hunt. Voting No: Chairperson Nixt. Abstain: Commissioner Brauer. <br />Chairperson Nixt explained that his vote is based on City Council opinions regarding the <br />change in land use. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt and seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy to recommend <br />that City Council deny the request to rezone the proposed plat of Skyline Pointe to <br />Planned Unit Development. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Levine, <br />Cleveland, Trites Rolle, Hunt. Voting No: None Abstain: Commissioner Brauer. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt and seconded by Commissioner Cleveland to recommend <br />that City Council deny the preliminary plat and preliminary site plan for Skyline Pointe, <br />based on the Commission's recommendation to deny the Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment and the Rezoning. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Levine, <br />Cleveland, Trites Rolle, Hunt. Voting No: None Abstain: Commissioner Brauer. <br />Planning Associate Ms. Dalnes advised the Commission to recommend Findings of Fact <br />to support the recommendation for denial of the rezoning request. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt and seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy to recommend <br />that City Council adopt findings of fact, with the variables amended as follows, to <br />support denial of the request for a rezoning of the property to Planned Unit Development: <br />Finding #10 — `will' <br />Finding #11 — `will not' <br />Finding #12 — `will' <br />Finding #13 — `will not' <br />
