<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-08-242 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A PERMIT APPLICATION FOR TWIN CITIES NORTH <br />CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO ALLOW CHARITABLE GAMBLING AT THE <br />LINKS OF NORTHFORK GOLF COURSE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce has requested that Council allow <br />them to conduct charitable gambling in a fundraising raffle format at The Links at Northfork <br />Golf Course; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Gambling Control Board requires that the local unit of government, the <br />City, pass a resolution specifically approving or denying the requests to conduct charitable <br />gambling; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is in compliance with all <br />requirements of the Ramsey Municipal Code with regard to charitable gambling regulations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Ramsey to assist in the economic prosperity of <br />local business owners. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA; as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is authorized to conduct charitable <br />gambling in raffle format at The Links ofNorthfork Golf Course. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br />
