<br />CASE # ;z.. <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR AN OVERAGE IN GARAGE <br />AND ACCESSORY BUILDING SPACE; CASE OF GARY AND LINDA GRINDE <br />By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On June 4, 1997, the City received an application from Gary and Linda Grinde for a conditional <br />use permit for an overage in garage and accessory building space on their property at 5655 148 <br />Lane N.W. The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Site Plan and text <br /> <br />c) <br />d) <br /> <br />Proposed findings of fact <br />Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State Statute, all properties within 350 feet of the subject property were <br />notified of the request. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The subject property is .9 acres in size and restricted to a total of 1488 square feet of garage and <br />accessory building space. The Grinde's currently have a 988 square foot 3-car garage in which <br />their 3 vehicles are stored. They are proposing to construct a 672 square foot garage in which to <br />store their boat, snowmobiles and lawn equipment. The addition of the proposed garage to the <br />property will tota11,660 square feet of garage space for a 172 square foot overage. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends approval of the request based on the fact that indoor storage of the <br />personal equipment will be an improvement to the property. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council adopt Findings of Fact relating to Gary and Linda <br />Grinde's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council approve/deny Gary and Linda Grinde's request for a <br />conditional use permit for an overage in accessory building space on less than one acre. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />City Administrator <br />City Engineer <br />City Attorney <br />PC: 7/1197 <br /> <br />33 <br />
