<br />CASE #1 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR A TEMPORARY <br />STRUCTURE; CASE OF TRANSWEST, INC. (COMMUNICOR) <br />By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Transwest, Inc. has submitted an application for an interim use permit to place a 720 square foot <br />modular office structure at 6100 Industry Avenue NW. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />1) Site location map <br />2) Structure detail <br />3) Proposed findings offact <br />4) Proposed interim use permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State Statutes, notification of the public hearing was sent to persons owning <br />property within 350 feet of the subject property. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Transwest, Inc. is requesting the use of a temporary office for a one year period while they assess <br />their building space needs and develop a plan for expansion of this address or relocation to a new <br />site. <br /> <br />The City has previously granted permits for temporary structures in the commercial and <br />industrial areas. Waste Management's permit for a temporary offic~ structure was issued to be in <br />effect as long as it took for their final vertical expansion (three years with four six-month <br />extensions available). Listul's permit was granted for a one-year period while they developed <br />plans to expand or relocate in Ramsey; they have received a one-year extension. The School's <br />permit was issued for a two-year period to allow time to construct the addition to Ramsey <br />Elementary. Rehbein's permit for a modular dwelling at the Links was to provide living quarters <br />for the project superintendent during construction of the golf course. Amcor received a permit <br />for 19 months and recently applied for an extension. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City StafIis recommending approval of the interim use permit for a 12-month period. <br />
