<br />REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR A <br />TEMPORARY OFFICE STRUCTURE; CASE OF AMCOR PRECAST <br />By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CASE #: t <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In November of 1995, the City Council issued an interim use permit to Amcor for the use of a <br />modular office structure at 6640 Industry Avenue N.W. until June 30, 1997. The permit was <br />granted in response to Amcor's request to augment their office space while they take time to <br />assess their permanent space needs at the subject property. The permit was established with an <br />expiration date of June 30, 1997. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Amcor has indicated that their sales are not at the desired volume and they are requesting an <br />additional 2 years to evaluate the permanency of their site. They have renewed their lease with <br />Royal Concrete Products, Inc. The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) Site location map <br />b) Proposed fmdings of fact <br />c) Proposed interim use permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />State law requires notification of the public hearing to parcels within 350 feet of the subject <br />property. Staff sent notification to parcels within 500 feet of the subject property. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff is recommending approval of the interim use permit for another 18 month period. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council adopt Findings of Fact relating to a request for an interim <br />use permit for the continued use of a temporary structure from Amcor. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council approve/deny the request for an interim use permit for a <br />temporary structure from Amcor Precast. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />PC: <br /> <br />City Attorney <br />08/05/97 <br /> <br />37 <br />
