<br />Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-06-201 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT #05-23 EBONY ADDITION UTILITY AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hakanson Anderson Associates Inc. has prepared plans and specifications for <br />Improvement Project 06-24 which consist of bituminous surfacing, drainage improvements, sanitary <br />sewer, watermain, and miscellaneous construction on Ebony Street from 141 st Avenue to McKinley <br />Street; and bituminous surfacing and drainage improvements on McKinley Street from Ebony Street <br />to the western boundary ofthe Ebony Addition; and has presented such plans and specifications to the <br />Council for approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 23, 2006, City Council adopted a resolution approving the plans and <br />specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #06-24, bids were <br />received, opened and tabulated according to law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the seven bids that were received: <br /> <br />Ryan Contracting <br />Hydrocon Inc. <br />V olk Sewer & Water <br />LaTour Construction <br />Northdale Construction <br />Nord Excavating <br />Dave Perkins Contracting <br /> <br />$349,872.54 <br />$353,829.00 <br />$359,807.43 <br />$371,169.50 <br />$374,124.75 <br />$387,065.80 <br />$399,090.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that Ryan Contracting is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Ryan Contracting in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of <br />Improvement Project #06-23 Ebony Addition Utility and Street Improvements in the amount <br />of $349,872.54. <br /> <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the <br />deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to <br />lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06-06-201 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
