CASE #4

REVIEW VERBIAGE FOR HIGHWAY #10 REDEVELOPMENT PLAN
By: James D. Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator

Background:

The Commission has now completed the first two sections of the redevelopment plan for
Highway #10 Northwest. This allows for completion of the review up to its intersection with
Ramsey Boulevard Northwest. The EDC, at the last meeting, requested that staff begin the
development of the verbiage that will accompany the proposed land use map to the City Council.

It is my understanding that this document will include the reasoning and the types of uses that are
being proposed for the area along Highway #10. With this understanding, staff has developed
the attached outline for this document. As a preliminary action, the EDC should consider, in
addition to the pros and cons of the development, what they believe each type of area should
include in the way of standards and development criteria.

The EDC should review the document and make as many or as few changes as they deem
necessary. Additional space has been provided for each Commissioner's feelings about the
proposed changes. The Commission should keep in mind that this is their proposal about how
they feel Highway #10 should develop, therefore, a consensus should be arrived at for the
proposed plan.

Commission Action:

No official action is required at this time, however the EDC should review and make changes to
the proposed text ofthe redevelopment plan for Highway #10.

Reviewed by:

Economic Development Coordinator
City Administrator

EDC: 09/04/97

@jo

I ,
