Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #06-05-162 RESOLUTION APPROVING 2ND PARTIAL PAYMENT TO LATOUR CONSTRUCTION AND RELEASE OF RETAINANGE TO SECURITIES AMERICA FOR PROJECT #03-20 NW SANITARY SEWER AND W ATERMAIN EXTENSION WHEREAS, the design of this project was authorized by the City Council at their May 11,2004 regular City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, a public participation program was authorized by the City Council at their December 6, 2004 regular City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, a public informational meeting was held on February 7, 2005, at Ramsey Fire Station No. 1 which outlined 5 alternative alignments; and WHEREAS, a Option No.3 was selected and authorized by the City Council at their April12th, 2005 regular City Council meeting; and WHEREAS, on January 10, 2006 City Council adopted Resolution #06-01-011 approving plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids; and WHEREAS, on February 28th, 2006 the Ramsey City Council adopted Resolution #06- 02-069 awarding the contract to LaTour Construction; and WHEREAS, 2nd partial payment will be paid as such; to LaTour Construction in the amount of $595,093.38 and Securities America for retainage of $31,320.70 for a total payment of $626,414.08. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL YED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to LaTour Construction and Securities America for hnprovement Project #03-20 in the amount of $626,414.08. 2) That the City Council hereby accepts the project and authorizes the Mayor or City Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. 3) That the total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills for the date of May 23,2006. 4) That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this resolution.
