Animal Control <br />CSO hire <br />Safety Camp <br />• Intern interviews <br />Ramsey Police Department Monthly Report <br />June 2006 <br />General Police Statistics and Highlights <br />Twelve dogs were impounded in June. Four were released to their owners, three were <br />adopted and five were euthanized. <br />The hiring process was conducted to replace our Community Service Officer position, <br />vacated by Officer Chris Curtis. Melissa Wistrom, a reserve with the department, was <br />hired as our new CSO. <br />The 2006 Kids Safety Camp was again a success with 126 third and fourth grade <br />campers. After two fun filled days, the camp concluded with a BBQ at Ramsey Fire 1, <br />catered by Wells Catering. <br />Two applicants were interviewed for the police intern position. The position will be <br />filled upon completion of background checks on both individuals. <br />• Laserfiche upgrade <br />The image portion of the Anoka County Records System was updated with a new version <br />of the software in June. The new version provides advised features and expands retrieval <br />options for clerical personnel and officers. <br />Officers. Assist Man Trapped in Hole <br />Members of the Police, Fire and Public Works Departments assisted a male trapped in a <br />hole. The male had been digging in his yard to repair a water main, when the dirt around <br />him collapsed. With the assistance of Connexus, a tripod was set over the hole and the <br />dirt was removed with a vacuum. The male suffered minimal injuries. <br />• Grant Received <br />The department obtained an alcohol compliance grant in the amount of $1,080 to be used <br />for conducting compliance checks in the City. <br />1 <br />
