PROPOSED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT <br /> <br />"The (name of local government) will apply National Urban Runoff Program (NURP) <br />standards* for the design of new stormwater ponds and the MPCA's urban best management <br />practices titled Protecting Water Duality in Urban Areas. to the review of any proposed <br />development occurring in the (city. township or county) to reduce nonpoint source pollutant <br />loadings in stormwater runoff. The (name of local government) will incorporate these <br />standards and requirements in its stormwater management plan and land use controls to <br />implement this policy. <br /> <br />2. PROPOSED SCHEDULE FOR PREPARING AND ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO <br />LOCAL STORMWATER PLAN AND LAND USE CONTROLS <br />The (name of local government) will prepare and adopt specific amendments to its <br />stormwater plan and land use controls by , 19_. The Metropolitan Council will be <br />notified after the amendments have been adopted. <br /> <br />3. STATEMENT OF COOPERATION WITH DNR FOR THE REVISION OF <br />SHORELAND REGULATIONS <br />The (name of local government) will work with the Department of Natural Resources to <br />adopt the revised shoreland regulations consistent with the DNR's schedule of priorities." <br />The Metropolitan Council will be notified following the date of their adoption. (This <br />statement may be an administrative action and included in the letter submitting the plan <br />amendment to the Council for review. It does not require official action by the local <br />government.) <br /> <br />*The local government may adopt standards and other requirements that are <br />equivalent to NURP and the MPCA's urban best management practices if it <br />chooses. This is explained in the Council's Interim Strategy to Reduce <br />Nonpoint Source Pollution to the Minnesota River or Interim Strategy to <br />Reduce Nonpoint Source Pollution to All Metropolitan Water Bodies. If the' <br />local government chooses the alternative of adopting equivalent requirements, <br />it should provide a copy of these for the Council's files. <br />
