<br />Memorandum <br />April 6, 1994 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />TRAIL SYSTEM ISSUES <br /> <br />The following issues were identified during a discussion with Mr. Mark Boos, City of <br />Ramsey Parks/Utilities Superv!sor: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Uniform signage is needed for trails <br />Lack of focus on commuter trails <br />Need to identify realistic goals that can be implemented <br />Highway 10 is a barrier to pedestrian and bicycle movements <br />Additional bicycle lanes are needed along county roads <br />Safety for the trail user when the trail is within the right-of-way of existing <br />streets <br />TH 47 is an inhospitable environment for trail users (bikers) <br />Need to include passive open space and trail development in development <br />reVIew process <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Further work on developing the Trail System element of the Comprehensive Plan will <br />include additional analysis in issues, land use planning completed by RLK, consensus <br />from the Committee on the roadway and bridge location plans, and an analysis of <br />transit potential. <br />
