10.7 Municipal Center Severe Weather Plan / Other <br />Emergency Plan <br />In the event that severe weather or another emergency occurs during the course of the day, staff <br />and occupants of the Municipal Center shall seek shelter in designated areas while also maintaining <br />accountability of all persons in building. <br />Requirements: <br />Anoka County Dispatch (911) may activate the outdoor warning devices when a certified weather <br />spotter witnesses severe weather or the National Weather Service indicates that severe weather will <br />threaten all or part of Anoka County. Although the County has the ability to sound the sirens in <br />zones, its common practice is to alert the entire County. If the outdoor warnings do not activate,. or <br />there is a different emergency, a member of Public Safety (Police or Fire) shall have the authority <br />to enact the emergency plan. <br />During NHormal Bbusiness Hours <br />;Wwhen the outdoor warning sirens sound or as directed by a member of Public Safety (Police or <br />Fire), all employees and visitors will move to the Police Department Locker Rooms as the primary <br />shelter area.— If the primary site is full, then the stairwell will be utilized as the secondary location, <br />as determined by a member of Public Safety. the secondary locations will be used. <br />Police Locker Rooms (Men and Women) Primary. <br />If necessary, the stairwell will be utilized as determined by a member of Public Safety and <br />employees and visitors will move to that area as directed. <br />If non -staff members are present in the Municipal Center, staff should direct them to move to the <br />designated area. If the primary site is full, then the secondary sites will be used. If any <br />members of the public or visitors are within the Municipal Center at the time when a weather <br />emergency, it is the responsibility of the Department Heads to get them to the shelter location. <br />A member of Public Safety will notify all areas when the situation has become stable and all <br />persons may return to normal activities. <br />During Nnon-Biausiness Hhours <br />-Aa member of Building Maintenance will guide all groups to the Police Locker Rooms and remain <br />with the group until the situation has become stable.
