Need to extend the Trott Brook Multi-Purpose Trail system to the east from TH 47, south <br />ofCSAH 27, to the Rum River. <br />. Inadequate number of linkages between existing trails and park destinations. <br />. Inadequate number of linkages between trails and residential neighborhoods and the <br />Ramsey Elementary School. <br />. Trail facilities are needed between residential development and activity centers south of <br />153rd Avenue. <br />. Trail linkages are needed between residential areas and lake shore amenities. <br />. Need to determine if there are additional opportunities for commuter trail development. <br />. Need to address Highway 10, which is a barrier to pedestrian and bicycle movements, and <br />prevents access to the river from the north. <br />. Inadequate trail access to and along the Rum River. <br />. Trail use when the trail is within the right-of-way of existing streets <br />. TH 47 is an inhospitable environment for trail users (bikers) <br />. Need to include passive open space and trail development in development review process <br /> <br />Environmental Issues and Needs <br /> <br />. Location of environmentally sensitive areas (wetlands, creeks, rivers, and parks) <br />throughout the City, which inhibit continuous and direct road alignments. <br />.
