aty of Ramsey
Comprehensive Plan Amendment
Transportation Element

. Most trails should be designed to accommodate a variety of recreational users (walkers,
joggers, skaters, bicyclists, skiers, horses, and others.
. To the extent possible minimize opportunities for conflict between trail users and
automobiles. Where possible (near neighborhoods, schools, etc.) create
pedestrian/bicycle-friendly zones.
. Pursue connections between the City's trail system and other regional trail facilities.

The Park, and Trails Plan shown on Figure 3-7 includes an off-road trail around the west side of
Sunfish Lake. Because of the scale of the illustration, it appears that the trail impacts privately
owned pr,operty. It is not the intention of the City to acquire this property in the immediate near
term to develop the trail. Instead, when and if the property owners decide to sell the property, the
City will take proactive steps to acquire it for the purpose of constructing the trail.

.

Page 3-37
