money for the property. Originally, the agreement for selling that property was 40,000 dollars,
with a condition that only single family homes could be built on it and that the developer would
pay for connection of city water and sewer to the DeBoers' home. Since the death of Henry and
Evelyn, their daughters are asking for 20, 000 dollars more. That could easily be made up by
charging 5,000 dollars more per single family house (there were four single-family homes
proposed on their property). In the scheme of things, a homeowner would not notice an extra
5,000 dollars on the cost of their house. I don't see financially any reason why the developer
needs to build these extra units on this property because the daughters raised the asking price for
their parents' land.

You as a city council member owe it to Henry and Evelyn to see to it that their wishes were
followed through. Perhaps if you were to wfrit 20 years after their d~~th, placing town homes on
this property might be acceptable, but less than two months have passed. It is too soon after their
death not to follow through with their wishes.

I hop~ that this is just an oversight and that you are not even considering approval of this
preliminary plat. Please deny this.

Please do your best to keep this piece of property for the building of single family homes. I feel
that it is morally wrong to put town homes on the peBoer's property just months after Evelyn
died. Evelyn can't speak for herself, so I feel that I need to do it for her. She felt very strongly
that she wanted there to be single family \lQm~51 tp.ere. fkase do your best to follow through
with Evelyn and Henry's wishes. .

Thank you for your time. I hope that you Wm 4R *9 right f11ing.

Deb Kuechle
