ANALYSIS OF EXISTING RECREATIONAL SITES
The following section is a detailed analysis of all Park and Open Space
sites within the City of Ramsey. This will include municipal parks,
county parks, state parks, school property and Boy Scout campground.*
Each site is evaluated on the basis of: (1) adequate location for
servicing people (2) size of the site; (3) access to area; (4) physical
characteristics of the site; (5) the function of the site; •(6) existing
improvements; (7) the number of persons served; (8) relationship to
surrounding land uses; (9) future improvement potential.
Findings
1. Twenty -five individual park sites with a total of 929.54
acres make up the comprehensive system available to the City
of Ramsey.
No. of sites Acres % of total
City of Ramsey 20 263.8 28.3
Anoka County 2 429.5 46.2
State of Minnesota 1 18.0 2.0
School District #1 1 47.0 5.0
Boy Scouts 1 171.0 18.4
25 929.5 100.0%
Ownership
* Note - Not available to the public
11
Function
Ci
Community
Boy*
Scout Private
amp
2.
