4. consideration of private land owners adjacent to proposed trails. <br />5. provisions for multi -use and multi - seasonal trails. <br />Bike Trails <br />Presently the City is considering Bicycle Trail Development along <br />County Road 7 and County Road 5. It is anticipated that this will <br />be accomplished in conjunction with Mn /DOT. While there are many <br />other roads in the City, these two seem to be the safest for trail <br />development. In the future, the City hopes to be able to establish <br />off- the -road trail systems that link with adjacent communities and <br />provide a variety of year -round multi -use trails. <br />An additional trail recommendation is: <br />Trott and Ford Brook Multi- Purpose Trail System <br />Trott Brook, running about eight miles easterly from Elk River to the <br />Rum River, is proposed as one in which a minimum of 100' of good <br />usuable land be acquired on each side of the Brook for its entire <br />length. Ford Brook, running about 1 -1/2 miles southerly from Burns <br />Township to Trott Brook, is the other trail proposed and would be <br />similar to Trott Brook -- with acquisition of 100' on each side for <br />its entire length. This is a great natural feature within Ramsey and <br />should not be exploited by developers or others, but preserved for <br />all the residents to use. The trails would support hiking, biking, <br />and cross - country skiing. In addition, the trails would concern <br />several park sites, thus helping to create a true park system. <br />23 <br />
