April 17, 1989
City of Ramsey
et
CO
15153 NOWTHEN BOULEVARD N.W., RAMSEY, MINNESOTA 55303 • • (612) 427 -1410
$
Mr. John Rutford, Referral Coordinator
Metropolitan Council
Mears Park Centre
230 East 5th Street
St. Paul, MN 55101
Re: MUSA /Comprehensive Plan Amendment - 1990 MUSA Exchange
Dear Mr. Rutford:
Enclosed for Metropolitan Council review and approval are seven
copies of a proposed amendment to reconfigure the 1990
Metropolitan Urban Service Area in the City of Ramsey.
The City is proposing trade which would add 163 acres to the 1990
MUSA and delete 165 acres from the MUSA. The exchange is needed
in order to allow four plats to proceed with residential
development. These developments are all proposed to be served by
sanitary sewer.
The City submitted a comprehensive plan amendment for expansion
of the MUSA 2000 on January 26, 1989. On April 11, 1989, the
City formally requested an extension of review time for that
amendment. We are continuing to work with MC staff particularly
regarding issues of rural density and connection to sanitary
sewer for existing development with in the urban area. Those
concerns will be addressed through that amendment process.
