"Setback" is a separation distance measured <br />horizontally. <br />29. "Sewage" is any water- carried domestic, commercial, or <br />agricultural waste, exclusive of footing and roof <br />drainage or any residence, or any industry, <br />agricultural, or commercial establishment or other <br />structure, whether treated or untreated, and includes <br />but is not limited to liquid waste produced by bathing, <br />laundry,culinary operations and liquid wastes from <br />toilets and floor drains. <br />30: "Sewage Tank" is a watertight tank used in the treatment <br />of sewage and includes, but is not limited to, septic <br />tanks and aerobic tanks. <br />31. "Sewage Tank Effluent" is that liquid which flows from a <br />septic or aerobic tank under normal operation. <br />32. "Septic Tank" is any watertight covered receptacle <br />designed and constructed to receive the discharge of <br />sewage from a building sewer, separate solids from <br />liquid, digest organic matter, and store solids through <br />a period of detention, and allow the clarified liquids <br />to discharge to a soil treatment. <br />33. "Shoreland" means land located within the following <br />distances from public waters: <br />a. One thousand (1,000) feet from the normal high <br />water mark of a lake, pond or flowage; and <br />b. Three hundred (300) feet from a river or <br />stream or the landward extend of a flood plain <br />designated by ordinance on such a river or <br />stream, whichever is greater. <br />34. "Site" is the proposed on -site sewage treatment system <br />area. <br />35. "Slope" is the ratio of vertical rise or fall to <br />horizontal distance. <br />36. "Soil Boring" is any type of excavation capable of <br />revealing in detail characteristics of soils penetrated. <br />37. "Soil Characteristics, Limiting" are those soil <br />characteristics which preclude the installation of a <br />standard system, including but not limited to evidence <br />of seasonal high ground water table or bedrock closer <br />1 <br />
