I am unhappy that there wasn't more notice of the
meeting given for such an important project during the busy summer months. I
received my briefing only a few weeks ago.

The plan places residential development to the east and west with commercial
in the southern middle. The Central Planning Area is also scheduled for
residential development of undetermined density, but starting with lots of
ten acres in size. This essentially commits a large area to development
without the forethought to such development as cluster housing areas. This
makes sense only if the idea is to greatly increase the development in the
Rural Developing Area. In addition, the plan recognizes a Rural Preserve
that will permit ten acre lots - not much of a rural atmosphere, in my book.

The overall plan is heavy on development and far short on conservation of our
limited and precious land resources. It will drastically change the city. A
more appropriate motto for Ramsey will need to be found. Perhaps, "Ramsey, a
place where city eroded the country," is more apt.

Sincerely,
John P. loess

cc:

<lindamloes@pol.net>

..;d~1"

-27-

..-----'
