So that we can minimize future conflict during the review period (which is required by
state statute), we should meet with local governments early in the process to find out what issues they may
have with the City of Ramsey and talk about how the Comprehensive Plan can resolve those issues.

This would take two separate meetings, which preferably could be held the same day depending on
schedules.

I. A meeting with the school district to find out what issues they are currently dealing with. Does the
school district have a facilities plan? What are the past trends. present population and future forecasts
for enrollment? How can schoo] district planning blend with the Cities Comprehensive Planning
Process? Are there any efforts (or needs) to site new school facilities within Ramsey?

2. A meeting with surrounding oommunities and Anoka County. At tbis meeting we should find out what
issues other communities have with Ramsey that could be resolved through the Comprehensive Plan
(issues particularly impacting the neighboring communities such as transportation. sewer or water, and
park and recreation). We should also find out where each community is at with updating their own
comp plans. This meeting should also be used to find out how other communities are completing the
MNRRA requirements and to talk about joint planning efforts.

It would be nice if we could schedule such meetings during the first couple weeks in Decembu, and be able
to share any discoveries with the focus group.
