612-3386838 HOISINGTON KOEGLER 230 P02 FEB 20'98 13:22 e e Comprehensive Plan Progress Report September through December of 1997, the City of Ramsey held a community wide visioning session and several public meetings to identify and resolve the most important issue..c; facing its future. In addition, the City conducted a survey of 400 households, which asked broad questions regarding citizens feelings and attitudes about the City of Ramsey. Having obtained infonnation from the survey and the various community meetings, the City and its consultant, the Hoisington Koegler Group, Inc, prepared a "Vision Statement" and set of "Guiding Principles." These documents serve as the overall framework for what the community wanle; to be. They re:flect the expressed needs and desires of the people of Ramsey. Following the visioning session, special interest meetings and survey, the consultants set out to develop two concepts that reflect the community vision. A community wide meeting is being scheduled for mid March to discuss these concepts and ideas. Some elements that will be repre.~ented in these concepts include land use, Metropolitan Urban Service Area, Transportation routes, a town center concept, and a bridge over the Mississippi River. The purpose of this meeting is for the general public to provide conunents and input regarding these concepts while they are still in the development stage. A second meeting will be held in March where residents can learn about the concepts while they are in their development stage. This meeting will be in the form of a workshop, which will consist of City Council, boards and commissions. Re..c;idents will be welcome to attend and view this meeting.
