(although
the Water Resources Management Policy Plan adopted by the Metropolitan Council in
December of 1996 indicates growth in "sewered" housing units from 2000 to 2020 to be
5,400)

~ Laws property would be rezoned from Commercial to Residential

~ Recent amendments to the City Charter severely limit any future urban development and
any future expansion of metropolitan sewer services.

~ Over 5,000 acres of land in Ramsey is restricted for environmental reasons (wetlands,
floodplains, Critical Area or Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, etc. . .).

~ The residential land included within the future 2020 MUSA expansion includes
transitional edges where future development would abut existing development. A likely
policy would require these developments to be compatible or sensitive to existing
development densities and/or lot sizes.

> A portion of the vacant residential land included within the future 2020 MUSA is further
restricted by the establishment of a "continuous green corridor" as illustrated and defined
in Concept B.

~ As of the end of 1997, the City of Ramsey had 400 urban platted lots and 109 rural
platted lots available for single family residential building and one townhome
development with 81 units. The total lot availability at the end of 1997 was 590 Units.
This includes subdivisions that were approved prior to implementation of the
development moratorium.
