<br />... - <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />CASE #1 <br /> <br />RECOMMEND PLANNING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL OF THE PARKS PORTION OF THE DRAFT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />By: Mark Boos, ParkslUtilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On February 16, 1999, the Planning Commission will be conducting a work session on the Draft <br />Comprehensive Plan. The City has received an extension on the deadline for submitting this <br />plan to Metropolitan Council. Previously, it was due in December 1998, now the City has until <br />March 31, 1999. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission first discussed the parks and open space element of the <br />plan in May 1998. The most recent opportunity for discussion was the open house style public <br />hearing in October 1998. At this point, the Commission should formally recommend approval of <br />the park and open space element. Staff has reviewed the seven pages and has proposed minor <br />changes, which are shown on the attached document. Perhaps the most important portion of it <br />are the Goals and Policies - many of which are adaptation~ of earlier goals and objectives.
