<br />~ Metropolitan Council <br /> <br />June 30, 2005 <br /> <br />Amy Geisler, Associate Planner <br />City of Ramsey <br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard <br />Ramsey, MN 55303-6140 <br /> <br />RE: City of Ramsey Comprehensive Plan Amendments <br />Brookfield Addition, Metropolitan Council Review File No. 18160-19, and <br />Sweet Bay Ridge, Metropolitan Council Review File No. 18160-20 <br />Metropolitan Council District 9 <br /> <br />Dear Ms. Geisler: <br /> <br />At its regular meeting on June 29, 2005, the Metropolitan Council took final action on the City of <br />Ramsey's proposed comprehensive plan amendments for Brookfield Additions and Sweet Bay Ridge. <br />The Council staff reviewed the two amendments as presented in the attached report. <br /> <br />The Brookfield amendment proposed a land use change on 156 acres from Rural Developing to Low <br />Density Residential to develop 235 single-family residential units. The Sweet Bay amendment proposed <br />a land use change on of 102 acres from Central Rural Reserve to Low Density Residential to develop 165 <br />single-family residential units. Both amendments expanded the Metropolitan Urban Service Area <br />(MUSA) to include the proposed development sites, and updated the City's development (sewer) staging <br />plan. <br /> <br />The Council's final action: <br /> <br />1. Allows the City of Ramsey to put the Brookfield Additions and Sweet Bay Ridge comprehensive plan <br />amendments into effect with no required modifications. <br /> <br />2. Informs the City that total sanitary sewer flows must remain within the Council's 2010 and 2020 <br />household growth projections. <br /> <br />The amendment information will be appended to the City's plan files.
