These environments provide habitat for a
variety of animals, including deer, fox, geese, songbirds, and many more.

Student. use of the ELC lias spanned all age levels and learning disciplines. Physical
improvements to the site, including trails and attractive seating areas, have been made at no cost
to the district through grants and tree sale proceeds. (You may be among the District residents
who first visited and enjoyed tile ELC during our Christmas tree sale last winter).

17Je potential of the ELC as a community resource is vast, with oppornmities for use and
enjoyment by all District residents. A~ this time, however, a portion of the site of up to 15 aaes
is under consideration by tile Sdlool board as a candidate site for the District's new elementary
school with additional acreage being considered for sale. There are positive and compelling
reasons for preserving tile ELC as a unique educational resource in its own right. Please review
the following highlights of dIe ELC and its already exciting history as a learning environment.
If you agree that this unique and diverse aaeage should remain intact to expand and enrich the
educational resources available to all District residents, we ask you to support the school board
in selecting an elementary. school site which does not compromise the value of the ELC. If you
would like additional infonnOtion or a tour of the ELC, contact Bud Budlman (439-9046),
Les Loverude (351-8234), Sandy pederson (351-8233), or Jenni SIJDl1er (430-0564/430-0759).

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO EXPRESS YOUR SUPPOKT FOR MAINTAINING THE
STILLWATER AREAfiLC:

...

.

Write a letter to the newspaper using infomuztiDn from this fadSheet to apress
your support for the ELC

Shore your views with school board memben before 1M October 12 school board
meeting (their ded~ will most likely COIM on or before October 26)-

Attend the October 12 and 26 school board meetinp.
