Recommendation: <br />Action: <br />Reviewed By: <br />Public Works Director/Principal Engineer <br />Fire Chief <br />Finance Officer <br />CC: 09/26/06 <br />AUTHORIZE SOLICITATION OF BIDS FOR THE REMOVAL OF <br />CONTAMINATED SOILS ON THE ST PAUL TERMINALS PROPERTY <br />By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer and <br />Sean Sullivan, Economic Development Coordinator <br />Background: <br />This project consists of the excavation, hauling, and disposal of approximately 4,400 <br />cubic yards of contaminated soil from this 1.5 acre industrial property which is located at <br />14050 Basalt Street. This site was acquired by the City from St. Paul Terminals for <br />redevelopment purposes and was occupied for many years by Danny's Trannys. This <br />project will allow for the redevelopment of this commercial/industrial property. The <br />project has been estimated to cost $215,000 and will be funded from the Livable <br />Communities Tax Base Revitalization Account (TBRA) awarded in 2005 and revenues <br />from TIT District No. 2. <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve plans and specifications for the removal <br />of contaminated soils on the St. Paul Terminals property project and authorize the <br />solicitation of bids for this project. <br />Motion to approve plans and specifications for the removal of contaminated soils on the <br />St. Paul Terminals property project and authorize the solicitation of bids for this project. <br />
