Recommendation: <br />Staff originally recommended approval of the request for Comprehensive Plan Amendment, <br />based on Staff's interpretation of the criteria listed in the Interim Policy, and the appropriateness <br />of using twinhomes as a buffer between existing businesses and single - family homes. The <br />Planning Commission - considered the request for Comprehensive Plan Amendment at their <br />September 7, 2006 meeting and recommended denial, due to the lack of a compelling reason to <br />amend the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to adopt proposed Resolution #06 -09 -_ denying the request for Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment. <br />-or- <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #06 -09- approving the request and authorizing staff to submit the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment to Metropolitan Council, contingent on approval of the request <br />for Zoning Amendment, preliminary plat approval, and preliminary site plan approval. <br />Reviewed by: <br />Community Development Director <br />Asst.
