CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Al Pearson <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Police Chief James Way <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council to order at 7:00 p.m., <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Gamec. <br />David Gotsch, Rum River Golf Course, stated he is present tonight because of the ongoing <br />problem with Canadian Geese at the Rum River Golf Course. Mr. Gotsch outlined the measures <br />that have been taken by the golf course to try to get the geese down to a workable number. He <br />explained the numbers continue to grow and there is destruction to the greens from the geese. <br />Mr. Gotsch stated Rum River Golf Course is one of the crown jewels in the retailing of the City <br />of Ramsey. They have had a lot of major tournaments, and want to put their best foot forward. <br />They want the public to come and see them; they are proud of their facility, but they are asking <br />for the City's help. He would like to work with perhaps the Police Department and the DNR to <br />take steps to keep the number of geese in check. <br />Mayor Gamec suggested Mr. Gotsch work with Police Chief Way regarding the goose problem. <br />Councilmember Jeffrey arrived at 7:09 p.m. <br />City Council / August 22, 2006 <br />Page 2 of 18 <br />
