This respondent is a professional public sculptor who has created and displayed public art <br /> in Community B. He believes that public art contributes to the community in a million ways. He <br /> believes that art changes lives, and it was because of his experience with art that made him <br /> become a professional artist. He believes good art inspires creative problem solving, and <br /> believes that greatness inspires greatness. He believes that art can inspire anybody to be better at <br /> what they do. He believes that public art increases the value of properties in the city. He says <br /> that his experience with the viewers of public art is that they are always excited to see the <br /> different pieces. He believes the public benefits by the inspiration art gives to people to make <br /> positive changes. For example, he said art can inspire empathy, which can in turn maybe cause <br /> someone to treat another person better. He believes that not all public spaces are welcoming to <br /> all people and that communities need to think about how they include people in public spaces. <br /> He also said, that as an artist, it is important that the pieces are a good fit for the community. <br /> The costs for public art he identified are the financial costs of the materials and artists, plus <br /> maintenance and upkeep costs.
