ORDINANCE #25-02 <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CHARTER OF THE <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA <br /> The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> Underlined text is inserted into the Charter. <br /> l -.,,14 text is deleted from the Charter. <br /> SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br /> This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the authority of the City Charter of the City of Ramsey and <br /> such authority as it is given under Minnesota Statutes Section 410.12, subdivision 7. <br /> SECTION 2. <br /> Sec. 2.5. Vacancies of the City of Ramsey Charter is amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 2.5. Vacancies. <br /> A vacancy in the council, whether it be in the office of mayor or councilmember, shall be <br /> deemed to exist in the case of the failure of any person elected thereto to qualify, or by reason of <br /> the death, resignation in writing filed with the city clerk, removal from office, non-residence in <br /> the city or respective ward, conviction of a felony of any such person after his/her election, or by <br /> reason of the failure of any councilmember without good cause to attend council meetings for a <br /> period of three consecutive months. In each such case, the council shall publicly declare by <br /> resolution, the vacancy to exist within 15 days of its occurrence and such vacancy shall be filled <br /> according to the provisions of section 4.5. <br /> SECTION 3. <br /> Sec. 3.4 Ordinances, resolution and motions. is amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 3.4. Ordinances, resolutions and motions. <br /> 3.4.1 Except as otherwise provided in this Charter of state statutes, an affirmative vote of four <br /> or more members of the council shall be required for the adoption of all ordinances, resolutions <br /> and motions. The votes of councilmembers on any action taken shall be recorded in accordance <br /> with state statutes. <br />
