These sign standards are intended to allow flexibility and creativity while maintaining the <br />design concepts of The COR. Due to the distinctive nature of The COR, the sign standards from the City <br />Code are not applicable and signage shall be allowed as prescribed by the Design Framework. The Master Sign Plan will specifically <br />pecificall addresspublic signs including <br />• The three (3) off -site community signs <br />• Banner signs on light poles <br />• Signage for public parks <br />• Signage for public parking ramps <br />• Signage for public buildings <br />• Community kiosks <br />000 "y 00000000l 000000 nl:I'R 00V0.0000000 <br />000000101. <br />u000 ii!i!!!,!!IIIIIIIIII <br />Signage should be used as a tool to help identify businesses and neighborhoods with The COR and <br />should have elements that are focused on the pedestrian nature of The COR as well as the signage needs <br />for businesses. <br />• Signage and lighting which is integrated into the design of the building is encouraged. <br />Dept Riot' <br />Awning Sign means a sign incorporated into or attached to an awning. <br />Community sign means an off -site sign identifying the development name and key tenants. Community <br />signs may also include public information. Reader boards are allowed to be incorporated into <br />community signs within The COR. Gateway and kiosk signs are part of this category. <br />Temporary Sign means a sign which is erected or displayed for a limited period of time and not affixed to <br />a Minnesota State Building Code approved structure. <br />Project sign means a freestanding area identification sign which identifies a single-family or multifamily <br />residential subdivision, a commercial development or an industrial park or office park and which is <br />located on the same site as the development it identifies. A site shall be identified as the block in which <br />the use is located. <br />Projecting sign means any sign, all or any part of which extends beyond the surface of the building or <br />wall by more than 16 inches. <br />Design Framework - The COR (Amendment #1) Page 30 <br />November 27, 2012 <br />
