2. 2. <br /> CC Regular Session <br /> Meeting Date: 02/25/2025 <br /> Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Connect the community through Parks,Trails and Recreational Programming. <br /> Title: <br /> Presentation of 2024 Photo Contest Winners <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> The purpose of this presentation is to present the winners of the 2024 photo contest.Now in its eighth year, the <br /> contest is designed to foster community engagement, showcase the beauty and essence of Ramsey, spotlight local <br /> photographic talent, and gather images for use in City publications. <br /> Photos were sorted by four distinct categories to be evaluated on creativity, quality, composition, and how well <br /> the images conveyed the theme of its category. <br /> 2024 Category themes are outlined as: <br /> Built Landscapes and Architecture: Explore the harmony between form and function in Ramsey's built <br /> environment-whether it's old and full of stories or new and full of interesting designs. Snap photos of industry, <br /> modern buildings, areas where nature and the built world interact, or even small designs people might not notice. <br /> Natural Spaces and Wildlife: Step into Ramsey's outdoors and wild areas. This category celebrates nature-from <br /> quiet,beautiful landscapes to all sorts of animals and plants. Whether it's the first morning light over a calm lake <br /> or the detailed wings of a butterfly, let nature inspire your photos. <br /> Life in Ramsey: What makes Ramsey,Ramsey?Is it the bustling market days,the quiet streets at dawn, or the <br /> vibrant festivals that light up the night? Capture the essence of life in Ramsey, showcasing the people,the events, <br /> and everyday moments that together weave the fabric of our community. <br /> Through My Eyes (youth entry): This is a chance for Ramsey's young people to show us what they see. If <br /> you're under 18,tell us about your Ramsey through photos. It could be your favorite spot,people you care about, <br /> a hobby, or something you dream about. Show us what grabs your attention and what you love about Ramsey. <br /> Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: <br /> Five minutes may be required to highlight the photo contest's imagery. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Acknowledge the 2024 Photo Contest winners as affirmed by the Park&Recreation Commission in February <br /> 2024. <br /> Outcome/Action: <br /> Recreation Coordinator,Abby Proulx,will present a brief slideshow, featuring the winning photos by category <br /> and reveal the winner for the Overall Grand Prize. <br /> Attachments <br /> 2024 Photo Contest Entries <br /> Form Review <br /> Inbox Reviewed By Date <br />
