Background: <br />PC CASE # <br />CONSIDER RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING <br />BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br />The terms of the following board and commission members will expire December 31, <br />2006: John Freeburg, Michael Max and Bob Sibilski (Environmental Policy Board); Joe <br />Riddle (Public Safety Board); Michael Nixt (Planning Commission); and Jill Johns, Tom <br />LaMere and Mark Lehman (Park and Recreation Commission). Each commissioner was <br />invited to reapply for an additional term. The following incumbents have submitted an <br />application for reappointment: <br />• John Freeburg and Bob Sibilski (Environmental Policy Board) <br />• Michael Nixt (Planning Commission) <br />• Jill Johns and Tom LaMere (Park and Recreation Commission <br />The following individuals elected not to apply for reappointment or they have not <br />submitted an application for reappointment. <br />• Michael Max (Environmental Policy Board) <br />• Joe Riddle (Public Safety Board) <br />• Mark Lehman (Park and Recreation Commission) <br />The City's Policy for Appointing Board and Commission Members states that "the <br />evaluation panel will meet in person to discuss and vote on whether or not a <br />recommendation for reappointment will be made to the City Council." The evaluation <br />panel consists of the Personnel Committee (three City Council members) and the chair <br />and vice chair of each respective board or commission. If the chair or vice chair is <br />among those requesting reappointment, the longest tenured member(s) is being asked to <br />serve on the evaluation panel in place of the chair or vice chair. <br />Staff has established to following tentative schedule for the evaluation panel. <br />5:30pm Environmental Policy Board <br />5:40pm Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment <br />5:50pm Park and Recreation Commission <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Review the attached applications for reappointment and discuss reappointment. <br />G:\Administration\HumanResources \Commissions \General (All Commissions) \10 -10 -06 Reso reappt commissioners.doc <br />-185- <br />
