The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Monday, August 14, 2006, <br />at the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Al Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Fire Chief, Dean Kapler <br />Attorney, William Goodrich <br />Chief of Police James Way <br />Community Development Coordinator Patrick Trudgeon <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:10 p.m. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />1) Consultant Billing Discussion <br />Finance Officer Lund advised that China consultant, Vern Hegg, attended the August 8, 2006 <br />Finance Committee meeting to discuss his billing concerning the China trip and his consulting <br />services. The Finance Committee asked for the opportunity to further discuss the billing situation <br />so a final conclusion could be reached. <br />Attorney Goodrich stated he talked to Mr. Hegg and was not happy with how the discussion <br />went. He reported he told Mr. Hegg he thought the Council would be more apt to pay on a <br />contract than for his services to China and for him to bill for things he did here. <br />City Council Work Session / August 14, 2006 <br />Page 1 of 9 <br />—51- <br />
