Panther Precision is currently operating in Fridley and
would like to relocate their business to Ramsey in the City's newest industrial park, Sunfish Lake
Business Park. The subject property is zoned Industrial and the site plan is proposing to
construct a 32,805 square foot office and manufacturing facility. The proposed activities are
permitted uses within the Industrial District. The site plan complies with the front yard, rear
• yard, and side yard setbacks and lot coverage established in the Industrial District. The exterior
building materials for the facility will be pre-cast concrete panel, rockface concrete block, and a
pre-finished metal accent cap. City sewer and water services will serve the facility. The
development of this property will require construction of a lift station within the Sunfish Lake
Business Park. The construction and timing of when the lift station becomes operational will
need to be a coordinated effort between the developer and the City. Associate Planner Wald
advised that Staff recommends approval of the site plan contingent upon compliance with City
Staff review letter dated February 28, 2003.
Vice Chairperson Reeve invited the applicant to make comment.
Jim Strecker, King Horn Construction, the architect for Panther Precision thanked staff for their
efforts and noted he was present to address questions from the Commission.
I-Tearing no comments from the Commission, Vice Chairperson Reeve asked for a motion.
Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Watson, to recommend that
City Council approve the proposed site plan for Panther Precision upon compliance with City
Staff review letter dated February 28, 2003.
Motion Carried.
